Empowered Counseling for Individuals
Celia Kelly, MA, LPCC

About Me
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in Parker, Colorado. I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. Counseling is actually my second career - I am a former English teacher, having spent 7 years teaching grades 7-12. Between careers, I spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mom to my two children, a boy and a girl (thank goodness, or I would have had to try for a 3rd).
A whim brought me to Colorado 16 years ago, and I'm counting down the years until I can call myself a native. I grew up living all over the world (France, Thailand, Argentina, and many different states), which I think is one of the reasons people fascinate me.
As a student, we have to answer the question, "Why did you become a therapist?" And my extremely boring response is, "I love helping people." While unoriginal, it is true. I am captivated by individuals, young and old, riveted by their life stories and what has molded them into who they are today. I believe that in addition to being good for our collective mental health, therapy gives us insight and perspective, which ultimately leads to us being better human beings.
I can't wait to hear your story, and help solve your problems - well, at least some of them.
